If you receive two of the same temperature readings minutes apart, then you're lucky because it's prone to faulty readings. The Braun forehead thermometer is quick and easy to use with a gentle forehead touch. My advice for others is to try it for yourself and see how it works. Unfortunately, the thermometers were still giving inaccurate readings. The BRAUN works fine. If I could give less than one star I would. Most have headings that say "Five Stars" ,"Great Buy", or "Easy to Use" and they say very little outside of the fact that they play attempt to counter the exact things complained about in the negative reviews. Suspect. I went back to the old-fashioned thermometers for now. PRT2000; PRT1000; Lens filters. It's a balancing act: using this thermometer to get a close to accurate temp or invading my baby's space to get an accurate temp rectally. Thanks, thermometer! Does not work. Apparently everyone in the family has fever. Even worse, I went to return it and discovered it is NOT RETURNABLE per Amazon's return policy for some health products.
About a week later, I decided to try it out on others and had the same result. I compared it against my ear thermometer and the forehead readings taken at my doctors office. The Corona virus is sweeping China. I looks at the ratings and this particular thermometer was rated number 1. When it worked, it seemed to give fairly accurate readings except when the sensor apparently got dirty. It seemed pretty easy to use however, I got inconsistent readings by +/- 2F...that's not good, especially if you're running a fever...or not. I am pretty sure I can get a more accurate read just be using my bare hand. A yellow screen indicates a mild fever. Nice and easy to use, but accuracy not good. I highly recommend this thermometer. It appears to give an estimate, like the temperature is somewhere between 96.5 - 99.7 degrees. Measurements are all over the place.
