Maybe my sound is just going bad on the tv though it’s only a few years old. But, like I said, 4k when I bought it a couple of years back - I just dont feel I can warrant the waste. That seems to have helped. We replaced the cables and the splitter, so I'm guessing this is a problem that's happening outside the house.Telus is no better. It only happens on Uverse. After searching the web on several occasions I ended up switching to PCM which I was not happy about so I went back and disconnected my BOSE Acoustimass sound and just using the tv speakers. Sometimes It goes off again in just minutes, other times it’s hours or days. I have no idea why it works, but it does. It has sound bar/speaker. No amount of resets nor firmware upgrades have fixed it. It's fine now.We've isolated the issue to the optical board.
Even sorcing from roku and using bluetooth headphones the same.Some films, via the Netflix app, I can reproduce sound cut out 100% guarantted in the same place. Flat screen samsung tv. Just installed the 5700, and with 19.7.5 drivers, I am getting audio drop out near constantly to the point where I just can't use sound out from HDMI.
If you can fix it by touching you coax to metal, you may need a new termination in your wall. It just comes and goes…turn it off and back on and it works fine.

Samsung said not their app even though its on their hub. However, anytime I have anynet enabled, my home theater works, but, I get hiccups in sound randomly whenever it feels like it… usually at the most important parts of a dialogue, so I rewind to hear what they said. I don’t have cable - watch tv thru over the air signal. Good luck!No answer just same issue but with LG tv (2013 model). I checked the connections, and they are tight.
It seems to happen whether watching Prime, PBS, Youtube etc.

Everything works fine and then all of a sudden the sound is gone but picture is fine.

I'm using the Vizio sound bar.Ken, try changing the video quality from HDX or HD to SD.I'm not sure what I did but it's working great now the only thing is now my Vizio sound bar is always turned on which I really don't care, it was turning on and off when I turned the TV on and off but now it stays on unless I turn it off, but I absolutely love the sound it's great.Changing the Anynet to off and turning of DolbyDIgital didn’t work for me.
