A NEW burger and curry restaurant has joined the multicultural food precinct in Progress Street in Morley, with a goal to become the next McDonald’s.Husband and wife Simon and Rebecca Mohiuddin opened Simon Says - B & C on June 15 after years of planning.With a limit of 150 customers each day, the restaurant’s aim is to serve tasty and affordable food to locals.It serves up burgers, curries, fried, roast and grilled chicken, steak and ribs as well as catering for most dietary requirements and allergies.Simon, who has been a chef for 20 years, said he was trying to change the trend of current businesses in Australia, with cheap prices and good quality food.“I have already got quite a bit of negative comments from the circle of quite of few business owners because they think I went crazy,” he said.“Everyone thinks I went crazy because of the pricing, the value and the way I am doing it.“They just think ‘you are not going to make any money, you are just going to go bankrupt’.“For the 15 years that I have worked in the industry, I know what everything costs to us but food prices went so high, 70 per cent of the population cannot afford to go out twice a week.“For me, Simon Says is just honest; take it or leave it.Simon said he wanted to bring people, with all dietary requirements, together.“There is not a single shop in Perth that offers everything under one roof,” he said.“I have gluten allergy, lactose allergy and shellfish allergy in my own house.“So I couldn’t go out – I had to go to one shop and another shop.“This concept is that I am going to challenge you with cheap prices, I am going to give you good food and there is one dish for everything.”Simon said his goal was to serve up good dishes for customers and if they did not like it, he would give them a refund.“Everyone asks what type of food is it, this is all Aussie food in a Simon Says style,” he said.“If you want to dine-in with us, have an open mind because as a chef, I do not follow any recipe; it doesn’t matter if that recipe came from Gordon Ramsay.“I create my own because that is the definition of ‘chef’.“A chef shall create, not follow that is why everything here will taste different.”Simon Says is located at Shop 8, 4 Progress Street, Morley.Simon and Rebecca Mohiuddin are the owners of "Simon Says - B & C" in Morley.
