In tests early Tuesday, the OnePlus 8 5G in New Jersey was able to make and receive calls and text messages as well as browse the web and open videos on YouTube over 5G. The issues started at around 5PM ET, and lasted nearly an hour.
The red and orange region at the top shows CPU utilization in Atlanta reaching overload, and the white regions show affected data centers seeing CPU drop to near zero as they were no longer handling traffic.
It's not yet clear what caused the problems, but in many cases it also caused Chrome browsers to crash worldwide.
The massive outage that unplugged internet, TV and phone service across the region Wednesday was the result of truck collision.
