On slower days, depending on your position, it can be limited. It gave me the chance to do what I loved which was working with animals. It is very enjoyable helping a family collect everything they need for a new pet. The employees I worked with were all great people and I enjoyed coming in every day to work expecting something new.

I was sent to work in the animal area with no training. I met so many dogs every day and I got to care for the animals on the floor.

My days were often busy because I worked in the salon and it was fast-paced but I really enjoyed every minute. Always continuing education on products and interaction with venders. Not much opportunity for moving up in company, unless you are a manager.The job was fantastic, I loved working in the salon. The only thing that was particularly hard was when I had to keep myself from taking all the animals home with me. Pay is terrible, can't live on it. The employees are great, and the customers tend to be really friendly and easy to assist.Many of the employees at PetSmart seem to be there because they want to work alongside animals. Only problem was breaking up a dog fight!
I’m pretty sure it was minimum wage and each quarter you could get a .25 raise. There was dust and cat hair so thick that it'd choke you.

I would have continued working there if it wasn’t for the management.

Don't make any long-term plans because job security doesn't exist. It has taught me how to approach many different scenarios and be innovative in regards to customer service and animal care.Every job has challenges and you either love it or you don’t. Training was bad for grooming, had to get 3 did teachers with 3 different styles of work to teach a group of students in 2 weeks. Friendly staff, interactions with pets, and having fun.Liked my time here! Definitely needs to have an empathetic person who is willing to listen to pet parents talk about their animals.Best job I’ve ever had. Manager would use my phrases to talk to staff because I had to motivate my own co workers because management didnt.Egos, bullies, and company wants young people so are against anyone over 40The management was very poor. There is no way you get to branch out an learn new skills. Not all managers will be that harsh.good first job, excellent place to learn about different kinds of animalsIf you work the hotel be ready for 8 hours straight in a room with 10-12 dogs by yourself with no bathroom breaks or safety except for a small citronella can. And then they would yell at me if I crossed into overtime pay after THEY called me in. However we could not keep a store leader (SL) or assistant store leader (ASL) for longer than a few months, most likely because of difficult upper management who aimed to instill fear in leaders rather than inspiring them, asking for input, or offering assistance/guidance. Overall great company with great benefits!

To get a good check you would have to fight each other to get bookings.I liked working there my co workers were very nice and would help if I needed it. Keep in mind you’re dealing with a variety of different dogs so they aren’t all angels. All you learn is how to shave a dog down short and boot it out the door as FAST as possible. Management SUCKS! I enjoyed the team building and the customers as well. I’m sad to say a job I loved has made me resent this companyPay is ridiculously low considering how much work you do as a dog groomer, No support from management, HR is a load of bullI highly enjoyed my time working at petsmart, everyone was very kind and helpful. The same employees stay with 8 hours a week, while others enjoy 30, and this has nothing to do with availability. The schedule can be tough on you sometimes though. Getting comfortable in the job took virtually no time at all. Managers were kind and considerate.
