I guess I'm glad for it in some ways, but also hate some of it-- things like "meaningful" tourism, flexodoxy, needing everything to have "texture", wearing serious hiking gear all the damn time. Second is pop anthropological commentary on perceived cultural phenomena. When I got to the end and read the acknowledgements, it turns out I was right.
